Watch and Pray

    (Matt 26:36-46, Matt 25:5, Luke 21:36,

  ICor 16:13, Rev. 3:10, Matt 7:6-8. Rev 3:11)

Disciples waiting at Gethsemane,

Wondering about the things ahead.

Getting so tired, sleeping and slumbering,

Till they heard a voice that said,

Could you not watch, could you not pray,

Could you not stay, with Me a little while?

The Spirit is willing, but oh the flesh is weak.

Could you not watch, could you not pray,

Could you not stay, with Me a little while?

Soon they'll be here, they'll find the One they seek.

Christians living at the end of time,

Waiting for the Christ to appear,

Getting so tired, sleeping and slumbering,

Though they know the end is near.

Can they not watch, can they not pray,

Can they not stay, with Him a little while?

The Spirit is willing, but oh the flesh is weak.

Can they not watch, can they not pray,

Can they not stay, with Him a little while?

Soon He'll return, is He the One they seek?

Watch and pray, stand fast, be strong,

Don't sleep as others do.

The terrible things to happen soon,

Need not happen to you;

If you will watch, if you will pray,

f you will stay, with Him a little while

You have to use the Spirit, 'cause, oh, the flesh is weak.

If you will watch, if you will pray,

If you will stay, with Him a little while

Soon He'll return, you'll find the One you seek.

We have to watch, we have to pray,

We have to stay, with Him a little while,

We have to use the Spirit, cause, oh, the flesh is weak.

We have to watch, we have to pray,

We have to stay, with Him a little while,

Soon He'll return, we'll find the one we seek.
